Cleveland State Wrap-up

Best descriptive would be "we had our chances"!! The meet started the way we hoped it would with a 1-3 finish in the 400 Medley Relay, then an expected 2-3 finish in the 1000. The 200 free was an event we had hoped to have a shot at winning but we ended up 1-2-3 (Rowan 1:43.47, Dansa 1:45.40, Murphy 1:45.98) which served as a huge boost only to be equalized by the Cleveland State 1-2 in the 50 in the next event. The 200 IM served as another event that we needed to take advantage of, and did!! Yi Liu finished 1st with a season best time of 1:57.53. We were looking pretty solid going into the second diving break. Our hopes were to win one of the boards but did not accomplish that. This put the need on us to win two individual events out of the final 5 events and we could not come up with the necessary finishes to get the job done and to get it to the 400 Free Relay to decide the meet. A tough touch-out in the 100 free where Dawid Kundzik lead for 99 & 1/2 yards of the 100 yard race seemed to take the wind out of the sails. The final score of 136-105 left me feeling a little confused as we had a very solid first half of the meet to be followed by a less than stellar second half of the meet. Tri-Meet vs. Canisius and LaSalle

We came up a little short in a very exciting and competitive meet against LaSalle tonight at the ECC Flickinger pool where we host the Atlantic-10 Swimming and Diving Championships. Some great swims from both teams made for a nail biting 168.5-165.5 outcome for the LaSalle Explorers. Standouts for the Bonnies were Ethan Rowan going a dual meet best in the 1650 with a 16:13.71 then getting right out of the event and swimming the next event the 200 free and winning that with a time of 1:44.10. Rowan then swam the 500 free in the second session and collected the win with a time of 4:40.26. Ethan got his 4th win of the day leading off the 400 Free Relay with a 48.29 for a relay that won with a time of 3:08.32. Dawid Kundzik also collected four wins on the day taking part in the winning 400 Medley Relay(fly split of 49.96/final time of 3:28.25, 100 free (46.64), 200 Free Relay (Split 20.46/final time of 1:24.71) and the 400 Free Relay (Split 46.08/final time of 3:08.32).
