We completed the season with a second place finish for the fourth consecutive season after last winning it in 2006. UMass garnered the top spot, once again, with a very strong meet finishing with 814.5 as we trailed with 531.5 points just ahead of Duquesne 496, Fordham 474.5, LaSalle 382.5, Xavier 362, St. Louis 252 and George Washington 186.
It was a difficult final night as we were saying goodbye to the Duquesne men's team as they have been informed that they are being eliminated as of the completioin of this season. We have grown close to the Duquesne men over the past 5 seasons and ache for what they are going through. Despite this, we knew that they would be super-motivated to finish strong and ahead of us and had to dig in and try to get it done.
I would characterize our meet as very mixed with our results. We had many very strong performances, a lot of good ones and more subpar ones than normal. We have a lot of work to do and realize that the quest to improve begins today.
